In 2014, the podcasting industry was growing, but creators lacked the infrastructure to monetize their audiences effectively. The goal was to build a two-sided marketplace that allowed show creators to distribute rewards and listeners to support their favorite content directly.

As a seed-stage startup, there was no existing infrastructure. We needed to build the brand identity, user interface, and product experience from the ground up.

The platform needed to extend beyond mobile and desktop to meet the strict safety and legibility standards of in-car interfaces.

As the sole designer on the founding team, I owned the entire design stack, bridging the gap between high-level business goals and implementation.

I established the company's foundational design system, including branding, logos, and UI libraries. This standardized our visual language and allowed the engineering team to move from concept to code rapidly.

I designed and successfully launched the responsive web platform "Joyride" (getjoyride.com), ensuring a seamless experience across desktop and mobile for creators managing their income.

The success of the platform and its seamless mobile architecture led to a strategic exit.

In 2015, Joyride was acquired by Google, transitioning our team and technology into the search giant's ecosystem.

Post-acquisition, I led the integration of Joyride's features into the Android Auto platform debut, launching as one of the suite's inaugural podcasting applications. This established the foundational UX for how audio apps function on Android Auto today.
